The Peck family farm is a former tobacco farm located in rural Mayodan. The quilt square hangs on the side of one of the farm’s original barns, which is over 100 years old. The barn was a wood burning barn where tobacco was dried and cured. The quilt square features a farm scene with the barn and rows of tobacco as a tribute to the family’s heritage and in memory of J.P. Richardson, Janet’s father.
